Computer courses often involve abstract working principles. Rely on the description, students are hard to understand these principles, often feedback that “too abstract, do not understand ”. We found that paper prototyping is a great tool to help students master the understanding of how abstract works. Paper Prototype is a paper solid model made by drawing and paper-cutting on paper. Prototypes can play the role of virtual reality, that is, the concept of abstract mapping into a concrete paper products. In addition to having the expressive power of drawing, prototypes on paper can also dynamically demonstrate system work processes. Paper prototype production costs low, time controllable, low threshold, easy for students to participate. This article describes the use of paper prototypes in human-computer interaction courses and computer-based courses and points out opportunities for application in other courses.
