根据串列加速器中铯溅射负离子源( Sources of Negative Ions by Cesium Sputtering, S N I C S)产生负氘离子的要求,制备了一种氘化钛阴极。它由1 个圆柱形的铜阴极心和填满其中心孔的氘化钛溅射靶构成。作为溅射靶材料的氘化钛通过高纯度钛粉与氘进行化学反应制得。钛粉在适当的温度下进行真空处理,从而获得良好的化学活性,很容易与氘化合生成氘钛原子比为 15 的氘化钛( Ti D15)。用这种氘化钛阴极,离子源可产生几μ A 至十几 μ A 的负氘离子。
According to the requirements of Sources of Negative Ions by Cesium Sputtering (S N I C S) for generating negative deuterium ions, a titanium deuteride cathode is prepared. It consists of a cylindrical copper cathodic heart filled with its central hole of titanium deuteride sputtering target composition. Deuterated titanium as a sputtering target material is prepared by chemically reacting deuterium with high purity titanium powder. Titanium powder is vacuum treated at a suitable temperature to obtain good chemical activity. It is easy to combine with deuterium to form titanium (Ti D1 5) with deuterium-titanium atomic ratio of 15. With this deuteride titanium cathode, the ion source produces negative deuterium ions of a few μA to a dozen μA.
