Since 1979, the Swedish government has made special efforts to promote scientific research and better contacts with the whole society. The work was carried out by the Swedish Research Planning and Coordination Committee (FRN), a new partner in the Swedish research system. This article is a presentation by the leaders of the Information Secretariat of the Commission on how Sweden is going to popularize science.
