Methyl bromide soil fumigation and disinfection technology is one of the main measures used to prevent soil-borne diseases in the protected areas of vegetables in China, especially for the control of root-knot nematode diseases that are difficult to control. However, methyl bromide has a detrimental effect on the atmospheric ozone layer.
