To clarify the classification method described above, we use the example of Marvell Components to establish a homogeneous cost model. Marvell Components, Inc. is an electronics manufacturer that produces two types of wafers at its subordinate factory: Wafer A and Wafer B. Wafer is an extremely thin silicon wafer used as a base for integrated circuits or other electronic components. The stamp on each wafer represents a special type of product suitable for a particular finished product. The company produces wafers in batches, each producing only one type of wafer (A or B). In the process of wafer embedding and sorting, embossing and wafer inspection must be performed to ensure that the embossing die is intact.
