新闻标题是新闻内容的缩影,是对其内容的高度凝练。当今世界正处于飞速发展的信息时代,各种新闻铺天盖地,好的标题能以简单明了的语言向读者展示其丰富的内容,节省读者的时间。新闻标题既要凸显整篇文章的主要内容,抓人眼球,又要尽量“瘦身”以适应有限的版面要求,这使得新闻标题必须做到简洁、准确、抢眼。为吸引读者,编辑往往运用各种修辞手段,力争使新闻标题更具吸引力,这为英语新闻翻译带来挑战。新闻标题的汉译不应是字字对应,而应是功能对等,准确把握意义的同时,尽可能再现原标题的风格特征。本文试从时态、修辞、字词等方面探究英语新闻标题的汉译。
News headline is a microcosm of the news content, is a highly condensed content. In today’s rapidly evolving information age, all kinds of news are overwhelming, and good titles can show readers the rich content in a simple and clear language, saving readers time. News headlines should highlight the main content of the entire article, eye-catching, but also try to “thin” to meet the limited layout requirements, which makes news headlines must be concise, accurate and eye-catching. In order to attract readers, editors tend to use various rhetorical devices in an effort to make news headlines more attractive, which brings challenges to English news translation. The translation of news headlines should not be word-word correspondence, but should be functional equivalence, accurate grasp of the meanings, as much as possible to reproduce the style characteristics of the original title. This article tries to explore the translation of English news headlines from the aspects of tense, rhetoric, words and so on.
