樊粹庭先生是一位老戏剧家。他为我国梆子腔系统之一的豫剧艺术的继承、改革、发展奋斗了一生。他又是把豫剧移植在陕西这块土地上耕耘、播种、浇灌,使之成长的奠基人之一。他不愧为一个发展民族戏曲的艺术家。虽然他离开我们已经二十多年了,但他不朽的业绩,高尚的品德,俭朴好学的作风,富于创造性的精神,深深地铭刻在我们心中。在我和他接触的二十多年中,从他身上学到了不少东西。他的编剧、导演、戏曲教育、剧团管理等,给了我不少启迪;他对陕西的戏剧事业的发展,对中国戏剧家协会陕西分会的建设,提出过不少有益可行的设想和意见。是我长期工作中的良师益友。樊粹庭先生1905年2月2日生于河南遂平县的潘村。1919年考入河南大学留英预备班学 Mr. Fan Queting is an old dramatist.
