凸轮在一般机械的自动控制机构中被广泛采用。为了使制造出的机构能在准确的时间内动作,保证工作的顺利进行,就必须加工出高精度的凸轮外形。假如使用光学曲线磨床或靠钳工修磨来制造高精度的凸轮,不但生产周期长而且很不经济,在实际生产中是行不通的。大批量生产凸轮是使用靠模在凸轮磨床上进行的。其工作原理是:靠模和凸轮工件共同固定在凸轮磨床车头的轴O上见图1。轴O可绕轴O_3摆动(距离b保持不变)。磨床工作时,和凸轮一起转动的靠模与靠模滚轮(在固定轴O_2上)相切,靠模的形状控制
