Since the 1980s, the cross-Strait relations between mainland China and Taiwan have witnessed tremendous changes and changes, and the attitude of the news media across the Strait has also undergone corresponding changes. The media on both sides gradually reduced their hostility. The mainland’s report to Taiwan has always been “comprehensive, in-depth, timely and objective” in the spirit of “worrying about worry and reporting good news.” Taiwan’s handling of the mainland news, though no lack of sensationalistic features, is, after all, objective and plain than usual. Second, the news media across the Strait are experiencing a shift from paying attention to publicity to paying attention to the news. The original news reports of the two sides are extremely tendentious. The fact of the news has often become evidence of propaganda. Nowadays, news reports have gradually become objective and realistic. As a result, the proportion of news value has gradually risen and the propaganda message has gradually been diluted, making the news media more dominantly The channels of exchange of information and mutual understanding are not merely weapons of attack and controversy as in the past. These are, after all, welcome changes on both sides of the media.
