被人们称为“超级癌症”的艾滋病,自美国1981年首次报告以来,以每半年增加一倍的速度迅速传播,短短几年已蔓延世界五大洲,成为全球关注的社会问题。截至1989年6月3日,全世界177个国家和地区共有149个国家和地区报告病例167373例。世界卫生组织专家估计,目前全球已有500万至1000万人被艾滋病毒感染,预计其中将有100万人在今后5年内发展为艾滋病。预计到1991年全球有5千万至1亿人感染艾滋病毒。在世界的一些地区,4~15%的一般人群已感染艾滋病毒。而在各种高危人群中,如药瘾者、妓女、同性恋和性乱人群中是60~80%。
AIDS, a disease known as “super cancer”, spread rapidly every six months since its first report in 1981 in the United States. It has spread across five continents in just a few years and has become a global concern. As of June 3, 1989, a total of 167,373 cases were reported in 149 countries and regions in 177 countries and regions. WHO experts estimate that 5 million to 10 million people are now infected with HIV globally and it is estimated that 1 million of them will develop AIDS in the next five years. It is estimated that from 1991 to 2010, 50 million to 100 million people are living with HIV. In some areas of the world, 4-15% of the general population is already infected with HIV. In all kinds of high-risk groups, such as drug addicts, prostitutes, homosexuals and sexually transmitted diseases crowd is 60 ~ 80%.
