乔迁新居,朋友送来一盆花,让我点缀客厅。这是一盆龟背竹,株形不大,没有艳丽的花朵,仅有叶片可观,所以不很引人。女儿见那瘦小的叶形与自己儿时所画的鸭掌相似,就称它是“丑小鸭”,不让放在客厅。无奈,我只好把“丑小鸭”安置在阳台上。 也许是此前吃饱喝足了,“丑小鸭”长得挺健壮,不几天就长出了一片新叶。新叶刚长出时,嫩黄的,蜷曲着,像雨后脱壳的蝉翅,不多时便直起了腰杆,撑起了手掌般大小的叶片。更令人称奇的是,新叶子并非从新芽上长出,而是整个地从旧叶柄基部
