乌鲁木齐西郊五一、三坪、西山、头屯河四个地方国营农场,今年大力开展群众性科学实验运动,共建立了四十个科学实验小组,参加人数包括干部、技术人员、老农和知识青年共五百二十八名;建立各种作物样板田一万七千多亩;占播种面积的百分之十一点五;已经落实的科学实验课题一百多项。各场都成立了科学实验领导小组,有的场还成立了科学研究办公室。自治区科委、科协、八一农学院、农业科学院都派了工作组到五一、三坪、头屯河等场建立研究基点,并协助开展群众性科学实验活动。
