Since the introduction of Wang Guowei in the early 20th century, “mood” (or “boundary”) has always been regarded as one of the most important categories in the study of Chinese classical aesthetics. Because of its importance, the related books and academic papers are full of sweat, and there seems to be some hard-won conclusions about it. However, on the other hand, although there is no doubt in the academic community about the importance of this category, how can it be?
