鱼涡头公社地处珠江三角洲沙围田。土壤较肥沃,排灌条件较好。全公社耕地总面积5万多亩,植蔗面积9,060亩,占耕地面积五分之一。1970年以前植蔗的制度是以春植蔗为主的。1963年全公社甘蔗平均亩产曾达6.5吨,以后多年都在5～6吨间徘徊。1972年开始大面积推广秋植稻底蔗,种植面积1,088亩,占蔗田总面积的12%,1973年2,614亩,占蔗田面积29%。虽然1974年遭受历史上最严重的涝、虫灾害,但1974年收获秋植稻底蔗平均亩产15,000斤比春植蔗平均亩产10,868斤,每亩增产4,132斤,增产38%。马克十六队有30亩
Fish Edo commune is located in the sand Delta Pearl River. More fertile soil, irrigation and drainage conditions better. The commune has a total cultivated area of 50,000 mu and an area of 9,060 mu of sugarcane, accounting for one fifth of the cultivated land.
