With high-density farming, the yield per hectare can be increased to 2,000 to 5,000 kg. US commercial aquafeeds typically contain between 25% and 40% crude protein, most commonly as a major ingredient in protein feedstock for fishmeal, slaughterhouse by-products, and cotton seed meal.
