1989年4月14日,是中国11亿人口日。我国是世界上人口最多的国家。它所拥有的人口量,在世界总人口中占22％,在亚洲总人口中占36％。中国人口的状况如何,对世界人口的发展,对亚洲人口的发展,具有举足轻重的影响。因此,严格控制中国人口的增长,不仅对缓和中国人口的过快增长,而县对缓和亚洲人口、乃至世界人口的过快增长,都具有重要意义。当前,我国已进人第三次生育高峰期,人口膨胀的形势是非常严峻的。本文拟从以下三个方面作些阐述。一、严峻的人口形势众所周知,解放以后,我国在一个很长的时期内,由于受“左”倾错误的干扰,使人口生产处于无政府状态,曾经出现过两个生育高峰,一个生育谷底。1950—1958年,为第一个生育高峰期,人口自然增长率在20‰以上,其中1954年最高,达到24.79‰。1959—1962年为两峰之间的一个生育谷底时期,人口自

The status of China’s population has a decisive influence on the development of the world’s population and on the development of the Asian population.
