1, the scope This standard applies to professional and civilian analog audio recording and playback of non-perforated tape. 2. Purpose The purpose of this standard is to list and define the characteristics, measurement methods and equipment necessary to determine the electrical characteristics of the tape. It also enables the tape user to compare the technical data of the products manufactured by each manufacturer according to this IEC standard.
