The current concrete mixing towers of various hydropower construction units in China are mostly products from the 1950s and 1960s. The equipment is old, the weighing accuracy is low, and the failure rate is high. It is no longer adapted to the needs of modern production and it is urgent to be updated. However, the purchase of a new mixing tower will cost a lot of money, and it is by no means a good idea. Renovating old equipment to make it catch up with modern production levels is a good way to spend less and get quick results. The computer control system of the concrete mixing tower jointly developed by the Hydropower Bureau and the Jilin Provincial Institute of Electronic Technology was completed in August 1990 and has been delivered to the production unit for nearly a year. It has achieved considerable economic and social benefits. This article takes the development process as a clue to introduce the development process and application of the microcomputer control system from several aspects such as the pre-development work, hardware development, software development, measurement detection and system testing, and application.
