南部采选公司露天矿的设计和建设工程分为五期,全部建成后,原矿的年开采能力从900万t增加到3550万t。目前,该矿每年开采的3550万t矿石需剥离1380万m~3的岩石。该矿在“斯凯列瓦特斯基-马格涅季托维”采区开采坚硬的未氧化的含铁角岩(普氏硬度系数,f=18～20)。
