世纪之交,世界局势风云变幻,各种世界观、价值观纷然杂陈;正处于体制转轨时期的我国,社会生活各个领域正在发生深刻的变化,出现了许多新情况、新问题;互联网的发展和中国加入WTO在即,又给新闻宣传带来了前所未有的激烈竞争和冲击。在这样的大背景下,新闻宣传如何才能从容应对挑战与竞争,如何才能在竞争中保持本色,立于不败之地,迫切需要我们去思考和研究。进行马克思主义新闻观的教育,就是确保我们在新世纪开拓新闻事业的新局面,在纷繁复杂的宣传舆论斗争中坚持新闻工作的党性原则的一个关键举措,对于全体编采人员武装自身,认清形势,分清是非,把握大局,实施正确的舆论导向,具有重要的现实意义和深远的历史意义。
