2007年年末,中国工商银行(以下简称工行)运筹已久的收购南非标准银行股权案尘埃落定,工行将支付约366.7亿南非兰特(约54.6亿美元)的对价.收购标准银行20%的股权,成为该行第一大股东,收购从2008年2月起生效。这既是工行迄今为止最大的一笔对外投资.也是中国银行业迄今为止最大的对外投资。业内专家认为.工行此举吹响了中国金融业进军国际市场的号角,在未来几年内.中国金融机构可能会对国际市场形成一轮冲击波。
At the end of 2007, ICBC (Commercial Bank of China), a long-awaited acquisition of Equity Bank of South Africa, was settled and ICBC will pay about 36.67 billion South African rand (about $ 5.46 billion) for the acquisition of 20% of Standard Bank Equity, becoming the largest shareholder of the bank, the acquisition effective from February 2008. This is not only the largest foreign investment in ICBC to date, but also the largest foreign investment in China’s banking industry so far. Industry experts believe that the move by ICBC has sounded the horn of China’s financial industry to enter the international market, and in the next few years, Chinese financial institutions may form a shock wave in the international market.
