“边界”思想是巴赫金对话理论的核心概念,《罗慕拉》中通过对“未完成性”观念的表达,契合了巴赫金对话性的“边界”思想。《罗慕拉》中的“边界”意识主要体现在民俗意义与话语层面上。在小说《罗慕拉》中,孕育于边界意识中的“越界的冲动”被赋予了强调有差异的个体的相互作用和对民主平等的渴望的性质。除了可以为乔治·艾略特小说作品中一贯倡导的人文精神提供理论依据,《罗慕拉》中的“边界”思想还为她的小说注入了现代性,即,体现了重视存在的差异性特征,承认个人视野的局限性,对自立中心的“独白”意识进行解构,提倡多元精神。
The idea of “border” is the core concept of Bakhtin’s dialogue theory. In “Rumulah”, the expression of “unfinishedness” in “Romulas” is in line with Bakhtin’s dialogic “border” ideology. The sense of “border ” in “Romula” is mainly reflected in the sense of folklore and discourse. In the novel Romula, the “impulse of transgressions” conceived in border consciousness is endowed with the character of emphasizing the interaction of individual differences and the desire for democratic equality. In addition to providing a theoretical basis for the humanistic spirit consistently advocated in George Eliot’s novels, the “border ” thought in Romula has also injected modernity into her novels, that is, Difference characteristics, recognize the limitation of personal vision, deconstruct “monologue ” consciousness of independent center and advocate pluralism.
