凭靠《漂流浴室》起家的新锐导演金基德不能不说自己在韩国影坛的地位相当微妙:韩国的院线里,他的作品并不能赚钱,而在国外市场,电影还没拍完就有人来洽谈版权问题——去年里那部对于韩国美容产业批判的电影《时间》,仅仅被安排了8个电影院,只有区区3万人次的观看(而在海外市场,金基德一度是占有院线最多的韩国导演)。甚至因为此,金基德竟攻击起抢占大多影院的商业片《怪物》的导演,最后激起国民抗议。最终金基德以以赔礼道歉完事。让人悲哀的是,他在致歉信中说自己“我才是一个充满自卑感的怪物”。言语间透露出无限伤感。
