国外,在有色金属各种合金的冶炼中广泛地应用稀土。稀土被有效地用于铜、镍、铝、镁、钛、钒、铌、铬、钨合金和其它一系列有色金属的合金化,并用作金属热反应的强还元剂。稀土对有色金属基合金都有着良好的影响,能够改善合金的物理性能和机械性能。有色金属中添加稀土的含量范围很宽,约0.001~0.5到8~10%之间。加入适量的稀土可以得到重量轻而强度高的合金,这些合金可以用来制造航空、火箭、汽轮机和发动机零件等。有许多添加稀土的有色金属产品已经纳入标准化系列,并且订出比较合理的价格。
