自从19世纪80代建立第一所商学院以来,不断地涌现出关于商学院的作用和教学重点应如何分配于理论与实践之间的争论。在整个20世纪50年代,商学院过于偏重经商的基本知识方面的教育。由于一些以科研为主的商学院面临信誉的危机,20世纪70年代到80年代之间产生了一个重要的革新,提高了商学院理论方面教学与研究的深度。然而,钟摆摆得太远了,于是我们在90年代目睹了又一个使商学院的重点放回到商场上的满足实际需求的运动。
Ever since the establishment of the first business school in the 1980s, there has been an ongoing debate about the role of business schools and how teaching emphasis should be divided between theory and practice. Throughout the 1950s, business schools placed too much emphasis on the basics of doing business. As some research-oriented business schools faced a crisis of credibility, an important innovation took place between the 1970s and the 1980s, deepening the teaching and research on theoretical aspects of business schools. However, the pendulum was so far away that we witnessed in the 90s another movement to meet the actual needs of the business schools that focused their attention back to the mall.
