我国著名植物遗传育种学家徐冠仁1914年3月7日出生于江苏省南通县,1930年毕业于南通学院附属高中。1934年在国立中央大学农艺系毕业,留校任助教、讲师、副教授,讲授稻作学课程,并从事水稻遗传研究。1946年赴美国留学,主攻遗传学,副修植物学.1950年在明尼苏达大学获博士学位,随后被推荐为美国荣誉“西格玛赛会员”,留在农学及植物遗传学系任研究员,从事小麦育种研究。1956年返回祖国,现任中国科学院生物学部委员、中国农业科学院原子能利用研究所研究员、所长,中国原子能农学会理事长,国务院学位委员会学科评议组农业组成员,国家科委同
Xu Guanren, a famous plant genetic breeding scientist in China, was born on March 7, 1914 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from Nantong High School in 1930. He graduated from Agronomy Department of National Central University in 1934 and stayed as an assistant professor, lecturer and associate professor, taught rice science courses and engaged in rice genetic research. 1946 went to the United States to study, the main genetics, minor botany science .1950 University of Minnesota doctorate, was later recommended for the honorary “Sigma member”, stay in agronomy and plant genetics as a researcher, engaged in wheat breeding research . He returned to the motherland in 1956 and is currently a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a researcher and director of the Institute of Atomic Energy Utilization, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, chairman of China Atomic Energy Research Association, a member of the Agricultural Research Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the State Science and Technology Commission
