This article investigates the findings of the Japanese Thoracic Society association between January 1994 and December 1994 on the number of deaths within 30 days of thoracic surgery for lung cancer. This is the 30th day after lung cancer surgery in addition to the North American Lung Cancer Research Institute. Large-scale investigation of mortality. The results were as follows: Of the 7 099 patients who underwent thoracotomy after lung cancer, 93 patients died within 30 days after surgery, and mortality within 30 days after surgery (hereinafter referred to as mortality rate) was 1.3%. According to different surgical methods, the total number of cases was divided into 3 groups: pneumonectomy group, lobectomy group, and surgery group with less injury (including lung segment resection, local lung resection, and thoracotomy exploration, etc.). The mortality in the three groups was 3.2%, 1.2%, and 0.8%, respectively. The mortality rate in the pneumonectomy group was significantly higher than that in the lobectomy group.
