China’s tobacco plantation area and total output both account for the highest in the world. Due to the poor quality of our flue-cured tobacco leaves (lack of color, lack of aroma, poor taste, low content of nesidin and high content of reducing sugars), there is not enough in the international market Position. Domestic and foreign production practices show that the quality of flue-cured tobacco is greatly affected by the soil environment and fertilization. From 1985 to 1988, Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, CAS commissioned by Chilean Chemical Mining Corporation and China National Tobacco Corporation, took the lead in carrying out a systematic study in this field. Over the past few years in our country eight provinces and cities in the main tobacco smoke area layout of a large number of observation points and a series of field trials, in-house simulation and greenhouse pots and other in-depth study. A total of 31 700 leaf samples and 3460 soil samples were analyzed, and a large amount of scientific research data were obtained.
