贵定县位于云贵高原东部的黔中山原中部、属黔南布依苗族自治州,总面积1631平方公里,区位优势明显,交通极为便利、是西南地区重要的交通枢纽.属浅中切割高原中心地貌类型,平均海拔1000-1300m.自然条件优越,地位东亚季风区,属于中亚热带湿润气候,四季分明,热量丰宜,雨量充沛,多云雾照,温差不大,气候宜人.全县林地面积88477.84公顷,森林覆盖率39.15％,林木绿化率49.89％,乔木林平均蓄积20.99立方米/公顷,植物资源较为丰富,奇特木本共有56个科,120个属,208种,其中裸子植物有6个科,14属,18种,主要为银杏科、松科、杉科、柏科、粗榧科、杨梅科、胡桃科、桦木科、壳斗科等几十个笠,上面向个种,油脂树种有核桃、油桐、油茶、漆树、乌桕等,贵定县森林资源丰富,发展县域经济,林业生态建设起到重要作用.
