1995年10月30日,河南省遂平县砖桥村民兵连长李学峰在夜间巡逻时,与5个人村行窃的持枪盗贼英勇搏斗,光荣献身,年仅26岁。消息传出,全村男女老幼无不为之悲恸。殡葬那天,方圆十里八村3000多名群众自发前去送葬,常年和他一块巡逻打更的一位民兵泪流满面地说:“如果能让俺们连长活着,就是让俺替他去死都愿意。”县乡村的各级领导干部也都为失去这位好民兵连长而深感痛惜。 李学峰倒下了,但砖桥村的父老乡亲永远不会忘记乐于助人,体贴关护他们的民兵连长。
