山西铝厂是国家六五、七五、八五期间的重点项目之一。从1983年7月一期工程开工到1994年底二期工程全面建成,形成了年产氧化铝120万吨的设计能力。其中一期工程引进德国氢氧化铝闪速焙烧技术、关键设备及自控仪表。二期引进法国、丹麦等国家的高压溶出,氢氧化铝气体悬浮焙烧技术及关键设备,签署引进合同64项,总价4700多万美元。二期又分两部建设,
Shanxi Aluminum Plant is one of the key projects during the period of 65th, 75th and 85th of the country.
