我和计镇华接触较多,“文革”后我为上海昆剧团编写的两个昆剧《蔡文姬》、《钗头凤》,由他分别扮演曹操和陆游。此外,我还看了他在《唐太宗》、《牡丹亭》、《十五贯》、《烂柯山》、《千里送京娘》等剧中成功地塑造了李世民、陈最良、况钟、朱买臣和赵匡胤等等各种身份不同、性格迥异的人物形象,被戏曲界公认为很有才能、大有希望的中年演员之一。特别是《钗头凤》里,他演了青、中、老三个时期的陆游,在一九八一年首届上海戏剧节中获得一致好评。人们还记得,“样板戏”《龙江颂》里那位收粮站管理员就是这个计镇华扮演的。十年岁月,这位才华横溢的演员,就只念了几句“应该!”“应该!”真是糟蹋人才啊! 我细心观察,发现他有个过人的长处,如果可以归纳成一句话,那就是“临事而怯”。“怯”在这里不是退缩,而是另一种精神状态,是搏斗前的精力凝聚,是备进前的思索。
