1985年4月15日,是美国第十六任总统——林肯遇刺身死一百二十周年。他是在耶稣殉难日倒下的,不过他并没有向人们许诺天国虚幻的精神安慰,而是现实地为奴隶们打开枷锁,为开拓者铺平了致富的道路。林肯是美国历史上一个杰出的资产阶级政治家。他被美国人民称为“合众国之父”,是新时代国家领导者的楷模。在世界人民心中,他的名字也是与争取自由和进步的斗争,紧密地联系在一起的。正如斯坦顿所说:“他是属于一切时代的”。马克思曾高度评价林肯总统说:“在美国历史和人类历史上,林肯必将与华盛顿齐名!”
April 15, 1985, is the twelfth anniversary of the assassination of Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. He fell at the martyrdom of Jesus, but he did not promise to people the unreal spirit of the heavenly relief. He actually opened the yoke for the slaves and paved the way for the pioneers to get rich. Lincoln is an outstanding bourgeois statesman in the history of the United States. He is described by the American people as the “father of the United States,” and is a model for the country leader in the new era. In the hearts of the people of the world, his name is also closely linked with the struggle for freedom and progress. As Stanton put it: “He belongs to all times.” Marx spoke highly of President Lincoln and said: “In the history of the United States and human history, Lincoln will surely rank first with Washington.”
