要想很快地诊断出局域网在什么地方出了问题,正确地使用网络测量仪是一个关键。像楼房的窗户一样,测量仪就是观察网络的窗户。目前,主要的网络测量仪器制造厂商有美国Fluke、HP和Microtest等公司。 为了明确起见,本文中的“网络”一词指包括所有用电缆连在一起的主机和硬件,它们组成同一个IP网络。“网段”一词指包括所有用电缆连在一起的主机,没有联网设备,如集线器和交换机等。例如,如果把30台主机和服务器全都通过10Base-T的电缆连接到1台集线器上,就应该考虑把这个网络划分成30个网段。每个网段包含1台主机,把电缆从主机敷设到集线器,在集线器的端口处,用专用插头连接上电缆。
To quickly diagnose LAN where a problem, the proper use of network measuring instrument is a key. Like the windows of a building, the measuring instrument is the window of the observation network. At present, the main manufacturer of network measuring instruments are Fluke, HP and Microtest companies. For the sake of clarity, the term “network” in this document refers to all hosts and hardware that are connected together by cables and form the same IP network. The term “network segment” refers to all hosts that are cabled together without networking devices such as hubs and switches. For example, if all 30 hosts and servers are connected to a hub via 10Base-T cable, you should consider dividing the network into 30 segments. Each segment contains a host, the cable laying from the host to the hub at the hub port, with a dedicated plug to connect the cable.
