The “Research on Application of Admixtures to Improve the Performance of Aerated Concrete” undertaken by the Institute of Building Materials and Concrete Research, China Building Materials Science Research Institute has completed the special project contract for science and technology of the State Bureau of Building Materials and passed expert appraisal in Beijing in May 1991. In order to improve the strength and water resistance of fly ash aerated concrete, the institute selected more than 40 kinds of additives (including organic, inorganic, and emulsion, etc.) to carry out a comprehensive systematic and extensive modification test of fly ash aerated concrete. Research results in the laboratory
