听说我要去采访申泮文先生,南开大学的一位朋友告诉我:他是年龄最大的仍坚守在教学一线的中科院院士。他极力倡导爱国主义教育,建议将爱国主义作为德育工作的灵魂,是科教界呼吁爱国主义最殷切、最执著者之一。
I heard that I’m going to interview Mr. Shen Panwen, a friend of Nankai University told me: he is the oldest academician still sticking to the front line of teaching. He strongly advocated patriotic education and suggested that using patriotism as the soul of moral education be one of the earliest and most persistent advocates of patriotism in science and education circles.
