党的第十五次全国代表大会,是在我国改革开放和社会主义现代化事业承前启后、继往开来的重要时刻召开的历史性会议,是本世纪我们党召开的最后一次盛会,肩负着重大的历史使命,在我党的历史上留下了光辉一页。十五大的主题是:高举邓小平理论伟大旗帜,把建设有中国特色社会主义事业全面推向21世纪。确定这样的主题,是时代的要求,人民的愿望。江泽民同志的报告是我们党带领全国各族人民迈向新世纪的政治宣言和行动纲领,是十一届三中全会以来全党和全国人民共同奋斗的实践经验的总结,是集体智慧的结晶。
The 15th National Party Congress is a historic meeting held at an important moment of our country’s reform and opening up and the cause of socialist modernization. It is the last grand gathering of our party for this century and shoulders a major historic mission. Left a glorious page in the history of our party. The theme of the 15th CPC National Congress is: Hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory and push the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics to the 21st century in an all-round way. Determine such a theme, is the requirements of the times, people’s wishes. Comrade Jiang Zemin’s report is the political declaration and program of action our party leads the people of all nationalities in the country in the new century. It is a summary of the practical experiences of the entire party and the people throughout the country since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, and is the result of collective wisdom.
