小鼠ｉｇ莲须７５％乙醇提取物５和１５ｇ／ｋｇ，减少蓖麻油引起的腹泻次数和发生率，也减少番泻叶引起的小鼠腹泻次数，但不影响小鼠墨汁胃肠推进运动。由于莲须抑制二甲苯引起的小鼠耳肿胀才角叉莱胶引起的足距肿胀，推测莲须提取物的抗炎作用可能是莲须抗腹泻的机理。
Mice ig lotus root 75% ethanol extract 5 and 15g/kg, reduce the number and incidence of diarrhea caused by castor oil, but also reduce the number of diarrhea caused by senna, but does not affect the mouse gastrointestinal motility. Because the lotus root whiskers can inhibit the ear swelling caused by xylene-induced mouse ear swelling, it is speculated that the anti-inflammatory effect of lotus root extract may be the mechanism of lotus root anti-diarrhea.
