Zibikekov (1873-1930) is a famous Tibetan Buryat and Tibetan scholar. To commemorate this scholar, at the suggestion of Buryat Institute of Social Sciences, since 1973, once every four years, a special academic conference on Tibetan Studies and Mongolian Studies has been held. The name of the conference was “The Zhibkov Academic Conference ”, Located in Ulan-Ude. Although the academic conference was held by the local academy of sciences, the conference in Zibike was greatly influenced by the oriental academics in the Soviet Union. Almost all of the Soviet Union’s most famous Tibetan Studies and Mongolian Studies Center attended the conference. The conference’s central topic is: the history, culture and literature of the Central Asian nation
