新《英语课程标准》指出:“教师在教学过程中要处理好传授知识与培养能力的关系,注重培养学生的独立性和自主性,引导学生质疑、调查、探究,在实践中学习,使学习成为在教师指导下主动的、富有个性的过程。”英语作为一门实践性很强的学科,要改变过去那种单一灌输,被动接受的学习方式,这就需要英语教师确立“以人为本”的教育理念,严格遵循“以学生为发展目标”的原则,将培养学生自主学习能力视为英语课程的灵魂,帮助学生自主学习、自主发展,为其终身发展打下扎实的基础。
