在中国房地产市场发展的早期,布吉就是商品房建设的急先锋。深圳特区设立之后,在早期的规划建设中,深圳似乎只是把布吉建设成一个工业小镇。但布吉人靠着敢为天下先的创业精神,在房地产市场迈出了新的步伐。吃螃蟹的是深圳市布吉镇的一家房地产开发商国都集团。乡村到城市的飞跃上世纪八十年代末九十年代初,布吉还充满农村气息,开发商多是开发工业厂房,还没有人敢盖高档住宅;而国都集团看准了布吉得天独厚地理位置,并且把握住了当时的市场脉搏和改革开放走向深入的机会,在布吉盖了一座建筑面积6.8万m2的高层住宅“国都花园”。
