哲迈勒·黑托尼(1945-)是当代阿拉伯文坛最杰出的作家之一,是1988年诺贝尔文学奖得主纳吉布·马哈福兹的嫡传弟子,是至今仍在世的马哈福兹好友中最年长的一位,也被认为是继其老师之后最有希望获得诺奖的阿拉伯作家之一。作为埃及“六十年代辈”作家中的代表人物,他作品丰富,著述等身,一直关注现实、针砭时弊,为社会进步谏言呐喊。截至目前,他有两部小说被翻译成中文,分别是《宰阿法拉尼区奇案》和《落日的呼唤》~①。本文是就社会政治局势、阿拉伯文坛以及个人生活和文学创作等方面对作家的深度访谈。
