[Objective] To investigate the relationship between the expression of TIAM-1 protein in tongue squamous cell carcinoma and clinicopathological factors and prognosis. [Method] Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of TIAM-1 protein in 86 cases of tongue squamous cell carcinoma, 10 cases of tongue epithelium-derived benign tumor and 10 cases of normal oral mucosa. Statistical analysis was made between the expression of TIAM-1 protein and tongue squamous cell carcinoma Relationship between clinicopathologic factors and prognosis of cancer. [Results] The positive rates of TIAM-1 protein in tongue squamous cell carcinoma, tongue-derived benign tumor and oral mucosa were 62.8%, 10.0% and 0 respectively. The positive rate of TIAM-1 protein in tongue squamous cell carcinoma Higher than normal oral mucosa epithelium and tongue epithelium-derived benign tumor, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.001). The positive expression rate of TIAM-1 protein in T3 + T4, cervical lymph node metastasis, clinical stage Ⅲ + Ⅳ, moderately poorly differentiated tongue squamous cell carcinoma was higher than that in T1 + T2 stage, without cervical lymph node metastasis, clinical Ⅰ + Ⅱ stage As well as highly differentiated tongue squamous cell carcinoma, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The recurrence rates of TAM-1 protein positive group and negative group were 51.9% and 28.1%, respectively (P = 0.032). The 5-year 5-year tumor-free survival rate was 38.9% and 71.9% , The difference was statistically significant (P = 0.003). [Conclusion] The positive expression rate of TIAM-1 protein in tongue squamous cell carcinoma is higher than that in normal oral mucosa and tongue epithelium-derived benign tumor. The expression of TIAM-1 protein is related to the clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and pathological grade of tongue squamous cell carcinoma. TIAM-1 protein positive expression of tongue squamous cell carcinoma recurrence rate is higher, the prognosis is poor.
