艺术领域从来就不是封闭的,不会固步自封,艺术从来都是大气的、敞亮的。科技时代的来临,它敞开了大门;高科技的侵入,它打开了胸腔。它坦然面对,淡然吸收,它们的融合,诞生了数码绘画。1968年,英国举办了全部由电脑绘制的《控制论》画展,展出了一些怪诞图案,这算是数码绘画的雏形。2001年,美国布鲁克林美术馆举办了《数字版画展》,这是正式的数码版画展了。发展至今,许多国际版画展都已经接受数码版画,大阪国际版画展还把大奖授予数码版画。在国内,多家美院已引入数码版画教学,文化部艺术司也发文介绍数码版
