今年4月8日,广州青宫影城大堂张灯结彩,鼓上舞、魔幻水晶球、花式调酒等表演节目令人目不暇给。影城员工和观众欢聚一堂,共贺青宫影城十周岁生日。2005年4月8日,青宫影城开业,只有5个影厅822座(5年后增至9个影厅1016座),没有巨幕。该影城周边半径200米范围内还有4家影院,竞争特别激烈。青宫影城开业时,其所在的院线有近百名员工,只有2人自愿报名到青宫影城工作,他们是广州华南影都的会计翁晓健(29岁)和电子游戏机室负责人张庆鹏(31岁),后来成了青宫影城的正、副经理。
