现代作物育种的总趋势,是充分利用杂种优势。利用杂种优势最简便,最经济的方法是使用雄性不育系。但是,选育雄性不育系的困难是在于保持系难找。因此,早期识别雄不育保持株是一件很有意义的工作。我们在开展甜菜辐射育种过程中,发现M_2代雄不育突变的出现,虽是辐照的产物,但与辐照诱变剂量的大小、剂量率的高低,以及辐照的甜菜部位没有相关关系,而只跟辐照的甜菜原始材料有直接关系。这个现象,引导我们开展了本项研究。
The general trend of modern crop breeding is to make full use of heterosis. The easiest and most economical way to use heterosis is to use male sterility lines. However, the difficulty with breeding male sterility lines is that they are hard to find. Therefore, early identification of male sterile maintainers is a very meaningful job. During the process of radiation beet breeding, we found that although the occurrence of M_2 male-sterile mutation was the product of irradiation, it was not related to the amount of irradiation-induced mutation, the dose rate and the irradiated beet , But only directly related to the irradiated raw materials of beets. This phenomenon led us to carry out this research.
