陆地棉C—4744系从苏联引进,于一九五九年在我所试种,经一九六○至一九六三年连续进行品种区域比较试驗(以目前大田栽培主要品种108—ф为对照),表现早熟、霜前花产量高、品质优良。一九六三年参加生产试验,并在庫尔勒英下公社其郎巴克大队示范推广种植47.8畝,虽然缺苗,但仍表现产量高,每亩实收籽棉306.4市斤,比邻近的22亩108—ф每亩多收99.8市斤,如按3市斤折1市斤计算,皮棉产量每亩多收33.26市斤。因此,国家作物品种委员会及全国第二次作物品种工作会议均同意将C—4744在新疆推广种植。现将几年来试验所得资料整理报道于后。
