白象山铁矿是宁芜南段在成矿类型上具有代表性的一个大型矿床,目前正在勘探中.矿体赋存在辉石闪长岩与三迭系黄马青组砂页岩接触带(包括正带和内带)上,呈与围岩产状一致的似层状-连续透镜状产出,延长延深均较大.磁铁矿矿石伴生有钒、钴、镓、钛等有益元素,铁品位属中上等.1976年以来,安徽省冶金地质勘探公司在该矿区及其外围组织了勘探和普查找矿会战,取得了较显著的成果,使原来一个中型矿床变成了大型矿床.近年来该矿床的储量规模不断扩大,并陆续在其外围找到了同类铁矿床.本文是白象山铁矿发现、发展和不断扩大过程的回顾.

Since 1976, Anhui Metallurgical Geological Exploration Company in the mining area and its periphery organized exploration and census prospecting battle, and achieved remarkable results, so that a medium-sized deposits turned into a large deposit In recent years, the reserves of the deposit have been expanding, and one after another found similar iron ore deposits in their periphery.This paper reviews the discovery, development and continuous expansion of the Baixiangshan Iron Mine.
