巴楚县地处天山南麓、塔里木盆地西北边缘,是喀什地区的东大门,周边与11个县市接壤,境内有兵团农三师8个农牧团场和图木舒克市。三莎高速、国道314线、省道215线、南疆铁路横穿县境,是连接喀什地区南四县和克州、和田地区的交通枢纽,是内地经喀什进入中亚、南亚的重要通道。行政总面积2.17万平方公里,辖8乡、4镇、5个国营农林牧场,186个行政村、16个社区,总人口34.32万人。
Bachu County is located in the southern foot of Tianshan Mountains, the northwestern margin of the Tarim Basin. It is the east gate of the Kashgar region and borders 11 counties and cities. There are 8 farming and pastoral groups of the Nongsan division of the Corps and Tumukhuk. Sansha Expressway, National Highway 314, Provincial Highway 215, and South Xinjiang Railway cross the county border. It is a transportation hub connecting Nansi County and Kizhou and Hetian areas in Kashi Prefecture. It is also an important gateway for the Mainland to enter Central Asia and South Asia via Kashgar . The total administrative area of 21,700 square kilometers, administer 8 towns, 4 towns, 5 state-owned farming and forestry pastures, 186 administrative villages, 16 communities, the total population of 343,200 people.
