Since the 18th CPC National Congress, economic and social development has been steadily progressing. The economy has always run in a reasonable range and the overall national strength and international influence have been significantly raised. The economy maintained rapid growth. From 2013 to 2016, GDP grew at an average annual rate of 7.2%, higher than the world average of 2.5% in the same period and 4% in developing countries.
